Áslaug is an attorney at law. She earned her cand. jur degree from the University of Iceland and a DESS degree in international business law from the Université d’Aix in Marseille in France.
Áslaug specializes in providing legal services to both individuals and businesses, focusing on tax matters, contract drafting, inheritance issues, and applications for residence and work permits in Iceland. She has successfully assisted many Icelandic and foreign companies, as well as individuals, with the application process for residence in Iceland, offering guidance on the necessary documentation and advocating on their behalf with relevant authorities.
In addition, Áslaug has extensive expertise in tax law consulting for both companies and individuals, managing communications and advocacy with tax authorities for her clients. She has represented foreign clients in relation to VAT returns in Iceland for several years and has helped clients navigate numerous inheritance cases, as well as handling various contract negotiations.
Áslaug is one of the founding members of LOCAL attorneys. Over the years, she has held several notable positions, including a board seat at Saga Capital Investment Bank, and has been involved with the Association of Women in Business (FKA), the KR track and field department, and the Rotary Club of Reykjavík-Landvaettir, where she served as president.
In her free time, Áslaug enjoys outdoor running, fitness, and hiking in the Icelandic highlands. She is sociable and loves spending time with family and friends. Additionally, she is currently studying French at the University of Iceland alongside her professional work.
